Right then. Time to start building again. I'm in the last week of three scheduled "easier" weeks before ramping back into a 12-week plan, ahead of November's next sub 1:30 HM attempt. This week, I've added the strength and mobility training back in, with next week becoming more focused around target times, rather than just mileage. Let's see how the first two or three weeks go with target efforts for a 1:25 but as said above, not feeling overly confident at this stage. @riggys99 and @peanut, have you got a plan on the go for your respective attempts? How's that going, if you do? |

Good luck in your build up @Mark J 🇳🇿 I am doing some half marathon pace in runs as part of my build up to my November marathon. This weekend I will be doing 2 x 4 miles at half marathon pace with 3 mins recovery then after another 3 mins recovery 2 miles marathon pace. Target is sub 1:30 but could be weather dependent as the course can be affected by the wind coming off the sea especially the last 3 miles along the front. |

Good luck both I started my plan this week but I'm not great at sticking to plans, so I'll use it more as a guide. I've been doing more speedwork over the summer and have been feeling strong (though it hasn't resulted in PBs!). The plan goes to over 45mpw (which is high for me) and will aim to consistently to do 10mile+ long runs.

Not following a plan apart from having planned my long runs each week. The rest I am just making up as I go along. Good luck to everyone. Look forward to some updates from you all |

Funny how we're all different. If I don't have a plan, for running, strength, mobility etc, written down, I simply don't do it. It's why I log absolutely everything I do. It keeps me motivated and honest. It's also why I get race entries in early. If I didn't, I wouldn't put a plan in place.

I have Sunshine Coast half on Sunday. At the start of the year, I was hoping this would be a PB attempt (1h 29m 24s) but the speed just hasn't been there particularly for longer intervals (1km plus) where I have found I just can't keep the speed up at anything like target race pace for multiple intervals. So, I'll be happy with 1 35 on Sunday and thinking that will be a stretch.

I'll activate my decloaking device, having lurked on the thread the last few months - I'm doing the Big Half on 1 September and had been hoping I might go sub-90, though I've not been hitting the required pace enough in training. I also signed up for a marathon in late October, so have several competing goals, though I feel like I've definitely built up the endurance with plenty of medium-long and long runs. Half PB is currently 1:33:50, so I hope to challenge that, even if the sub-90 may be out of reach until spring next year. |
