That's a good effort HG, shame about the :41 but gives you something to aim for next time you've got a flat fast course

Good run Chris. Hills are always a tough point for me to cope with.

Good work Chris.
I can't complain about last mile - lovely wooded trail section then flat tarmac for 200m to finish. Couldn't catch anyinevthete but didn't lose any more places / paces! G

Quick question - do you take gels in half marathon? (Assuming that you do in marathons) and if so how many and when?
In past I have taken 1 or 2, e.g. mile 6 and 9 or just mile 8. But didn't take any this time (just forgot to buy!) and wonder if I suffered after mile 9 not being able to pick up pace at all at the end?
Cheers, G

I usually carry one but fine think I use it very often. I tend not to drink either as I don’t feel I need to. But depends how I feel on the day.

I've never found gels useful on a half. You're not out long enough to get into glycogen depletion, I think?
