Wiggo the underachiever? bbc.co.uk Have to agree , perhaps he should have retired after the Worlds win, he obviously desperately wants Roubaix, but I don't think he's got the form for it. |

Wiggins admits he won't win Paris Roubaix: cyclingtips.com.au Scroll down to near the end "“I said already that I would give anything to be in the same position as Carrefour de l’Arbre again as I was last year. That would be enough for me, to be honest…." |

Chris - Are you a journalist? Because that's not what that says. If Wiggins is in the same position after Carrefour de l’Arbre, then he is in contention to win. That position is the same position Terpstra was in last year.

That's reading between the lines SPR :-). "That would be enough for me, to be honest" doesn't seem like a confident statement of declaration, just to be in the top 10 again. "Don’t get me wrong…I am not sitting here going, ‘I will accept ninth place." conversely in the context it was said looks to me like he is sitting there saying he will accept ninth place ! ![]() |

He doesn't need to make confident statements of declaration. He is unlikely to win in Cancellara or Boonen style, in the front group at the crucial point (like he was last year) and likely do a Terpstra with his teammates then marking chasers out of it like EQS did. Bold statements aren't going to change that, and if it comes down to a sprint which involves Kristoff and Degenkolb, it's unlikely to go his way. If he gets a gap at the end, he'll be hard to bring back, but getting a gap is the hard part. |

I'm going with Degenkolb as he made the front five last year, before the Boonen, Terpstra, Thomas, Wiggins group got back on. I'd like an attacking race, which I think would be guaranteed if Vanmarcke was on form, but he seems to be lacking a little form. If he was on last year's form, he'd be the overwhelming favourite. |

Vandenbergh would be a nice winner.
