Oh yes - I also had my noise isolating headphones. I never minded babies, with headphones I could ignore those.

Or child (6-7 yo) who doesn't want to sit down and belt in just before landing. We had one who was being uncooperative and would just scream.

Looking through some old papers and found my letter offering me my job. Start date 17/10/05. Pity I won’t make it to 20 years but well well. Reading some of my appraisals have been fun too.

Meanwhile being retired allows you to visit fantastic things like this midweek with a guided tour by an art expert who can tell you how and why the art was done in the way it was. Best collection of Spanish art outside Spain. aucklandproject.org |

I still have my copy of my first contract of employment; it was a one-page thing, from one of those self-carbonating pads. Start date 21/07/1986. Salary £2,964. |

When I started at my current job back in 1989 they asked me to attend a physical exam at a doctor's. I thought at the time this was a little over the top as I work in IT and only exercise I have at work is tapping the keyboard.
