Flying back overnight from the US always worth getting a window seat on the left just in case the northern lights are on show

The upside and downside of the Virgin flight is it’s a Dreamliner (lovely plane). The cabin crew can shade all the windows automatically and do that overnight in such a way that you can’t lighten them, so no views on night flights.

Rock up to the airport early. Get hammered. Get on plane. Pass out. Arrive.

Oh no, a holiday would be right high up on my list.
Lots of European cities i haven't been to, so might go interrailing, plus I'd love to go back to New Zealand.

Closer to home, the top of Scotland, Skye, Ireland (North and South), Lakes and Peaks, Isles of Scilly.

Everywhere, basically.

South Africa was a good flight. Take off 7pm after a skinful in the lounge, wake up 12 hours later in Cape Town. No jet lag.

London to Sydney work flight. Get on plane Saturday morning, get off Sunday evening with a beard thinking 'where's the fucking weekend gone - work tomorrow'. Dreadful.

My neighbour boasts of flying to Australia for a week for work. I’d rather stick a fork in my eye.

When we were in Japan, just about every conference trip was long haul, but Australia - UK is a whole lot worse.
