Mr Ness and I were just discussing if I could potentially get sub 5 at Chester in October. For similar reason. Not having to fit training around work.

I keep seeing all you do ness and think I should do x y or a and then go arrrrggghhh time Like swimming with work my pool only allows me 35-40 mins tops |

I think if you look at what the training I managed in 2019 in the run up to Chester. It might give a more realistic perspective on what's possible when your working full-time. You're doing really well, Pix.

Your training predicts sub-5, Ness, you just need to be brave enough to go out fast enough and be prepared for the last few miles to be horrible

Yes. The last few miles weren't horrible when I ran the first one. Perhaps that's where I went wrong! 😉😂

Difficult call, because if you go out too fast it can bite you hard later on. But sub-5 only needs 11 minute mile pace and you're reliably faster than that in training.
