Aww, how nice. I won't have anything similar because I leave jobs every couple of years anyway. We sometimes all go out for a bit to eat. Sometimes not even that. Slip quietly away... G

Lovely, bet you woke up with a smile LG.
Interesting re leaving gifts. I left work on a voluntary scheme with a sack of cash, and decent pension starting at 55 to live the dream. Yet all those who were staying on at work, presumably unable to afford taking the package were amazingly generous spirited in their good wishes and putting their hands in the pockets to fund a cash gift.
I deliberately refused a leaving do etc as I feared they would do this - but they still did. I felt almost guilty....

That's super, LG
I suspect eL Bee!'s leaving present will be management reminding him to turn the heating down in his room and hand over his key before he goes.

I didn't get a leaving present from my last teaching post. Didn't expect to get anything so it wasn't a surprise.

I spent two hours with the HR Manager detailing with evidence, the MD's Racism, Misogyny, and the negative impact his shagging the Marketing Manager was having.
I was then called into the meeting room where the MD said some lovely things about me and gave me an expensive bottle of champagne. Most cringeworthy moment in my career in the final minutes of my career.

Mine will be reminding me to hand back my work laptop, it was mentioned in a meeting yesterday, I offered to give it back immediately.

In my last few working days, I got an email thanking my successor for his hard work over the school year.
I replied saying I would pass on their thanks to him, but could they clarify what he’d done. I got a blustery apology - someone had updated the list of names in the database a few days earlier than they should have and *of course* they had meant to thank me. Planks.
