Sounds like something I'd enjoy.

Picked up The Book Thief in a charity shop today. Heard a lot of good things about it, but some mixed reviews as well. Anyone read it?

I read it a while ago, Deinonychus.
I found it slightly uneven but overall I enjoyed it and some sections were magical.

Only rose tinted memories of Secret History stop me from wondering if Station Eleven is my favourite novel of all time.

I tried to think about what my favourite novel of all time is but each time I do I get some kind of fatal error and my brain reboots and I go back to square one.

Normal People is doing that thing where I am really uncomfortable and annoyed reading it, and then something changes and I want to find out what happens next.

Normal People is the Sally Rooney book, right? If so, I also found it rather annoying. A lot of it I enjoyed, but I kept getting annoyed by the main characters and how they behaved.
[I keep getting it confused with a book called Ordinary People, which came out about the same time, and was also shortlisted for the Women’s Prize, but which I haven’t read.]

I think my favourite novel of all time is The Idiot by Dostoevsky, but I’m not sure.
