I've started Normal People. It's not my normal sort of book, and yet seems similar to a lot of books I've read before, and not just because of the Oirishness of it. I'm not sure I can understand the overwhelmingly positive reaction I've seen everywhere.

Really struggling to understand all the hype around Normal People, it’s not floating my boat at all.

Old Filth however, is a work of subtle, abstract genius.
