Surely there are many degrees that can’t be done online where practical work or work experience is required - doctors, dentists, chemists, engineering to name just a few.

Indeed, until there is a vaccine, that is the problem.

The pub has been on the decline for years. Will the pub survive to be part of the new 'normal'? I'm not convinced it will. Unless, of course, you're only allowed in a pub, if you're under 35.

Govt steps to aid HE [5% additional recruitment, fuds released to unis earlier et al.] need to be supplemented by strongly signifying that UK HE is open for business. Greater and wiser minds than mine, in govt and education - take note.

WS - maybe we get natural immunity somehow / there will be natural selection. The common cold has been found to be deadly to South American tribes. But this is not the case here. There are people who survive covid and assume they will have immunity thereafter.

Actually, small independent pubs had been doing rather well, especially the last 18 months or so, I fact in some areas, numbers of pubs had been going up, a bit of a shame really as they were driving the beer revolution, not the chains and big breweries.

The government t is allowing unis to take in 5% more students, my guess is unis think more people will take a year out rather than pay for a years tuition cobbled together over the summer....without having to.attend and limited contact time. I would certainly think about handing over a few thousand quid

Thanks WS.

Am seeing more seniors will feel displaced due to being forced to use technologies that overwhelms them.
