Thank you Badger and roberton
I am currently considering dropping my daily mileage a little. I did the maths at the beginning and worked out that 5.25 miles a day would be enough to stay ahead of the Buzzard and finish maybe 2-3 days early. Then I decided on a 40 mile week (5.71 miles/day), but alternated to that I could have a day a week where I did less than 5, so at the moment I am about 38-40 miles ahead of the buzzard.
I'm thinking I might go back to 5.25 miles per day for a week or two as I feel absolutely shattered - and I've run marathons before, so this sort of mileage shouldn't be tiring me out. I am correcting a few dietary issues so that won't be helping.
Anyone else feeling tired? Or just me?

I really struggled with a 3-miler this morning. I'm finding there is usually one day a week where I feel completely done in and can't even achieve a 10-min/mile pace.
At any other time, I would simply decide to give myself a day off, but the pressure to keep logging the miles together with my (very small compared to yours, Vixx) run streak means I just have to grit my teeth and get out there.
I must say that now that the daily mileage required has fallen to "less than five miles" as opposed to the initial "over five miles", that's been making me feel a lot more optimistic about the whole thing.

All runstreaks start somewhere Synge - you're doing great!
We're all doing great running I think as I think for all of us, we are being challenged to push ourselves harder than we might have done at this point of the year.
(Which I think is the purpose of Lazarus Lake and his races.....)

im very impressed with those of you who have had to significantly up your mileage and stick at it week after week. I was feeling like a real cheat at the beginning as i was just carrying on with what i normally do but i have now upped the mileage to finish sooner and its giving me more loads of satisfaction to be pushing myself.

I have to admit, I am now toying with the idea of dropping to the minimum mileage per day and running it all rather than walking some of a longer distance.

It was great to have a reason to up my mileage. The 200 miles I did last month would have been unthinkable a few months ago, but lockdown, WSW and then this have taken me to new places. It's a nice feeling.
Wish the good weather would come back though. That definitely helped too!

Agree roberton. Had to do an early streaksaver today as I have to travel to mom's to do her shopping (2hrs away) as my brother has to work and it's the only slot I could get. I'd rather get it done than leave it, but the weather this morning is a bit dank. I did hope it might be nicer than forecast, but it did make me keep it short and sweet!

Hope everyone doing well. I had a massive hit of fatigue on Saturday, and I can hear the wee voice saying "you don't need to do this". But, rested up a bit and felt a lot better today.
