Good god, Tommy the Fish looks younger now than he did when he was racing on Nino's videos.
Interesting how few race days Nino does, one video suggests in 2016 there was only 14 to 16 race days, if I heard that correctly. Lots of cross-training including running and

XC skiing

Shame Jenny Rissveds couldn't race in the womens xc but Jolanda Neff was flying. Annie Last did great to get silver. Emily Batty got a nast cut on knee when she crashed. Looking at the pic Emily posted from hospital she did well to finish never mind coming 7th.

Yes, Annie Last - just wow. History made yet again :-). I'm so chuffed for her after a couple of really tough seasons.

Did you read the political BS about why Jenny Rissveds couldn't ride?

Yes Cath I did read about it. Felt sorry for the athletes involved and not the way imo to treat the current olympic xc champ.

I spent the weekend glued to Redbull TV watching the XC and DH. Fantastic result for Annie.
MrMegster was full of it as he rode Smithfields a few times on an ancient borrowed Mongoose a couple of years ago!

Good for the Fish sticking up for his client. Sad for Jenny but it would be the thin end of the wedge if he/they capitulated.
There have been all sorts of issues around this for many years. Adidas had a contract with BC and that caused problems some years back iirc.
Another example of how ineffectual and powerless the UCI can sometimes be, even with one of it's member organisations.

The way I read it the UCI just stepped away and didn't want anything to do with it, utter wankers.

Nobody won though, not the sponsors, not the UCI and certainly not the riders!

Did anyone get out on fat tyres over the weekend? I didn't and seem to have fallen into bad habits of doing 'house jobs' instead of riding my bike :-O
