The Doctor K Cup

The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.

I've just added the Doc to the home page to draw attention to this thread, and will do some other posting. New arrivals on the thread, here's what you have to do: 1) Add the following virtual race to your portfolio: fetcheveryone.com/viewracedetails.php?id=3560577 2) Make sure you enter your predicted time for 5k, and do so before 8am on 5th October. 3) Pick a local parkrun where you can make your attempt. Fmail Joopsy with your real name and which parkrun you are doing. 4) With a large dollop of honesty, run on October 5th, without a timing device, or pacer, etc. The person closest to the predicted time will receive the beautiful Doctor K Cup for one year. |

Hello, just been reading through. Am also happy to donate some cash and think that there have been some lovely ideas. I will try and do a Dr K parkrun on Saturday - I was unable to for the previous 2. I'm running at a completely new to me event on Saturday coincidentally, so my time will be a real guess! |
