The Doctor K Cup
98 watchers
The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.
How to join in
Firstly, add the 2024 Doctor K Cup to your Fetch portfolio. All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. Fizz :-)
You can’t pin it yourself. Fetch has an algorithm that directly attaches it, as long as it’s on the same day, and within a certain distance (5% I think) of the declared race distance. And as long as you only have one run on that day which meets the criteria.

Dvorak
TGD, the Fetchotron does it automatically by afaik looking for a training log entry which would equate to the race entry. However, it would be looking for something of around 5 km (it being a 5K race). In these unusual circumstances, where the 5K is taken from a run of around that length or longer, it won't I think find all the runs. For example yours, it being 10 km.

The great dollop
Thanks Fizz and Dvorak that explains it - I had a couple of runs and one was about 10k which is what it's taken from.
