Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Excellent quimby, thanks for popping in. I remember Christmas being so annoying. Off work, with alcohol all around but I was expected to drive. Now it's no hardship at all. G |

I thanked a friend at Parkrun for telling me their partner spent seven hours in the pub yesterday then went to bed for twelve hours when they got home. It’s a massive help to hear that it can be such a waste going out drinking. Not for me thankfully any more

Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Oh, I don't know if I told you guys, but I had a lovely moment from my wife recently. We were talking about violence within relationships (in a group, family or friends, can't remember which) and how often that is caused by or at least exacerbated by alcohol. She was saying she would give as good as she gets! And I said that I thought one of us would be dead, if I was still drinking. And she said she agreed that she knows how volatile both of us can be without alcohol, so she is very grateful that I don't drink. It's the first time I've heard her say it and I said thank you, it means a lot to me. Still not sure she got it, but after nearly 20 years it was nice for it to at least be acknowledged. Sorry to get a bit heavy there. Have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas everyone. Great parkrun this morning, lots of santa hats and smiles. In. G |
