Guiding at London was very stressful - a lot of very ignorant people. Well maybe 50 out of 50,000 but still annoying when they nearly cause a collision for your blind runner. Well done Ferg.

Nico, lovely pic. Well done.

And we done all Fetchie runners and supporters. Such a wonderful event. A great Sun morning weeping and cheering at the telly. :-) G

It didn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the day, but it was difficult to get past walkers, even from as early as 2 miles!

Apart from stretches of Docklands, crowds were awesome

I didn’t see any other Fetchies on the run and my Garmin had a hissy fit and added an extra mile around mile 16 so I thought I’d gone further than I had. It messed with my head a bit for the rest of the run but hey ho.

I had exactly the same issue with my Garmin. It coincided with a stretch with no water stations, I had cramped and needed a drink. A low point but erased by the crowds cheering and lifting me towards the finish

I'd been thinking that starting people off in waves would mean less crowding - but maybe there are more walkers now than when I last ran it.

Well done all :-)

Mine recorded 27.2 with obviously Canary Wharf being the issue. As that was the section I was walking for stretches it makes sense that the chaos of the GPS signal was exaccerbated there.

As usual at this point I highly recommend using things like the Peters Race Pace data field on a watch through that section to keep you honest as it ignores the GPS distance and resets as appropriate. It was only at the end that I had any insight as to what the GPS distance actually recorded was.

Did anyone else think the mile markers were inaccurate?

Our pace group had a dozen watches going off within a few seconds of each other, always way short of the mile markers

The mile markers are fine. Consumer-grade wrist portable GPS just isn't as accurate as people want to believe it is.

Yep, I reckon they were good. Most of my miles were actually 1.02-1.03 (I use manual lapping) which is pretty par for the course. If 26 of those had been wrong, the final 0.22 wouldn't have existed!

See below. Obvs lap 15 I missed a lap marker, and mile 18 is the CW section. Surprised final 1.22 came out as 1.3, but I'd be pretty confident that they get that last section right!

BK brighter days ahead
BBC showed the Eastenders storyline taking place within the marathon - actors walking three abreast about 500 metres from the start not particularly considerate of the runners around and behind them.
