But I'm not sure which course/ pathway you're on so I'm sorry if it doesn't apply to you

We have been told it's a six-month placement, still as a student, but paid. We haven't had a form from HEE, we just had to email written opt-in to someone at the uni.

That's odd. We sent the HEE form straight to the students. This is weird! Good luck whichever route you decide on!

Just had a total and utter meltdown. Raindrop tears and snot, violent shoulder shakes and sobs the end of the street would have probably heard. I just codnt get my work, to save, then it wouldn't log me in word. I changed my password and it still wouldn't log me in. My smart phone was saying it couldn't find the file and wasn't connected to the Internet. Through my tears I managed to copy and paste it all to my email. Hubby came rushing upstairs after his Skype meeting (I hadn't realised he was in) and somehow managed to save to day. I am now trying to calm myself down enough to get an additional 2000 words done to hand in. Carp I've had a similar kind of confusing message but not to your extent. I've been told I can do an extra shifts a week and get paid for it. Not sure if I work as a HCA. Last face to face I had I was told any extra hours I did wod count towards my placement hours too. So am I doing student hours or HCA bank shift hours? Most of our students only have student uniform. Do we only do it on our placement area. I'm not actively trying to find out as I have enough on my plate with placement and study atm but in a months time uni will be done so may have the opportunity then to 'work'. Hopefully things will be a lot clearer by then too. |

That's a totally understandable meltdown, EB. I'm glad it all worked out. (())

Huge cuddle EB, not surprising. I feel close to the same but my household is being very dismissive of my worries so I think I'd get short shrift if I did. I've been hiding a lot. Sat in front of the laptop and can't stop shaking. |

Please EB and Carp: take some deep breaths. Your unis and employers will work out things so you won’t be disadvantaged I’m sure. Just they are probably struggling to communicate this as things are changing so fast. Take care of your mental health because you’re going to need to be strong for your patients and colleagues, ok? |

The PHD Movies are currently free to view phdcomics.com EB, that's a completely understandable meltdown. I'm glad you got it all sorted. I don't think I'll ever forget getting the blue screen of death on my computer. I thought I'd lost the first two chapters of my thesis and phoned my supervisor in floods of tears. It's a good job he wasn't in an important VC type meeting. |

I really feel for you two at the moment. You've got more on your plates than most students anyway, and then to have all this on top is bound to feel overwhelming. If/when it gets too much, please let someone at the university know. There's going to be a lot of flexibility for at least the next 6 months or so (from a university point of view), so I'm confident something can be sorted out.
