Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fingers crossed for son 1 doc! Son 2 will hopefully be ok...
CStar, she was poorly for her mocks wasn’t she? Such bad luck, I’m sure if she’s good at revision she’ll be fine with the resits.
Thanks HB :)

She was yes, so she should be ok. Maths was fine, but physics and chemistry were a car crash, so at least she only has to resit 2. It will be a good lesson in resilience.

Oh that’s a shame for your teen CStar. Hope she’s not too disappointed and does well in the actual exams. Has she got something to keep her busy this year? Travelling is hardly an option for gap years right now.

A* B B here. With the A* in art so she’s delighted, as she said even getting an A is difficult and had been cautious in her expectations. The other two have been downgraded from predicted but she seems ok with that.

Results are well within requirement for Loughborough art foundation but we’re waiting on go food the place (it’s direct rather than via UCAS)

I think she might try and go and work in a skiing resort for the winter, which would be fun and not require lots of travel.

Very disappointing grades here, but still got his deferred place offer regardless. ABD, would have hoped for AAA with maybe at least one *. Wonder if there's any point resitting the D as he has an offer anyway.

He's still adamant on the gap year.

A levels are a passport to the next level. If you’ve got a place in the next level would you need to resit? I guess if he thinks any future career is very competitive and might look at A levels, but are they really relevant after a degree?

Congratulations DS1 and fingers crossed for your 2 DocM and your 1 Meglet
CStar- resits sound a good plan given the circumstances

Stu- that must be a huge disappointment but at least he's got the place. I guess it's up to him how important that D is

I feel your pain Stu H. Was it an unconditional offer, so he's ok anyway?

Teen got his place at Bath, thank goodness. He got AAB (Maths, Chemistry, Physics) and is very disappointed with the B.
