DS2 refused to go to school today. First day back since March. Only has 5 face to face days between now and the end of term. Says he can't see the point. He's Yr 10 so GCSE's next year. He has claimed that he has been doing the work set but the increasing number of emails from teachers to him and us belie this. He is bright, does not a single thing at home to help and is pandered to by OH. I have finally stepped in and removed phone and PS4 access until he goes to school next week.

Ds2 said that school was boring and a waste of time. They watched online lessons using Teams which seems a bit stupid when they’re actually at school. He said the only good bit was the social side, which was enough to have him go back again. I think he has upped the amount of work he’s doing, mostly because he knows one is purely coursework based so it’s in his interest. Honestly, GCSEs are so fucking boring even when at school that I have sympathy for them
