DragonDaughter is going to do History and Spanish and her firm choice is Bristol. I think she is likely to get what she needs although she wants to get higher grades than the offer..... Assuming all goes to plan, there will be two younger Dragons at uni in September. |

Bristol is lovely (but I'm biased).

It's quite a long way from York (which will make it rather different from DragonSon who is at Newcastle). We saw quite a bit of him last year (his first) for various reasons but that's unlikely to be the same for DaughterDragon.

Is anyone else's teen moping around the house looking miserable? She's driving me mad, both because I'm worried sick about her but also because I'm so bloody busy and she has literally NOTHING to do. She is talking about giving up her job because she didn't like the last shift she did (she's done two...). She spends the night playing online games and gets up at lunchtime and basically mopes about. If I ask her what's wrong she says nothing. She's behaving like someone who's depressed and that worries the hell out of me. I don't have anything left to give after the past few months and OH is no use. He just picks fights with her. And it's not like anything will change on results day because she has absolutely no plan whatsoever. I can't deal with this worry on top of everything else.

Cedd is part time miserable arse hole. We are cutting him some slack as he has been very stressed. We have a while to go. GCSE results for us. |

Yeah. She has also been very stressed about OH I guess, and I haven't been on top form. That helps, thank you. I just can't deal with the worry.

@LindsD I found I often totally forgot to allow for how stressed Cedd would be about his brother because I was so wrapped up in my stress. We have had to talk about it a few times and I've had to apologise more than once. Don't know if that helps.

Not looking miserable as such, but the Boy definitely doing only the stuff he wants to - interspersed with lots of time looking at stuff on his phone. In terms of communication, I find getting him out for a walk can work well - especially if I can get him to leave his phone behind. |

Approaching slowly with a home made smoothie (or other treat of choice) also tends to work here.
