Wondering if there is already a thread out there somewhere that I've missed despite thoroughly searching!?

SuperDave!
I've not seen one.
Other than this one, obviously.
I ran 45:09 earlier this month. Curse those 9 seconds to hell.

Ah brilliant, I have been a bit scared to start a thread because I've been busy with family life to keep up with the posts, but DESPERATE to share my training and receive some tips and advice from others wishing to improve.
My PB is 45:12 that was on a completely flat route with no structured training, every race I have done have been 'flukes' no hard work put into it but feeling now is the time to start the dreaded speedwork. Reading my RW mags over and over and just started to add 30-40 min tempo run once a week and 6-8 x 800 intervals once a week...10k in 7 weeks time with a 1 mile hill start...

Well done SD! Hope those 9s don't haunt you for too long, what training are you doing? Pammie wow looks like you know how to train! Does the amount of miles covered a week matter to performance do you think?
