50 was my PB year, and that was after several years of decent training (nibbling off a minute or off each year). It's got harder since though.

XC done, I pushed a bit harder than planned but didn't go crazy. Should do long run in the eve tomorrow as best option I feel.

The ground was so good it was hard to call it xc tbh, that's why I pushed harder as it was too nice not to fly at times.

I'd like to try a XC that's not got a long section of mud, XC in Scotland is usually a mud bath. Enjoy the LR this evening rbh.
Last LR of the ultra training bloc for me, got the train out to Polmont and ran back covering the last 25 miles of the Ultra. Put in 3x2k tempo efforts just to get the legs spinning. Feeling confident now that I can knock a big chunk off last year's time now.. Three weeks to go.

Still not been. The rain was supposed to clear and it's still coming down. I'm going to accept the wet and head out soon. 20 mile loop is programmed in my garmin but it's a mostly familiar route so should be able to relax and splosh through it.

I'm not sure I could get out at 5pm for a 20. I'd never sleep!

Reasonable outing today at worcester half. 5.5m wu and 1.5m cd then 13.1 at mara pace. Plan was 81.30 to 82. Came in 81.41. Sat in 6.10s throughout with the odd dip under for a couple of miles. Was a warm morning in sunshine and course was technically tricky in 2nd half twisting and turning round city narrow streets.

It was half 6 before I set out in the end, rain had cleared, lovely sunset colours and amazing moon/clouds.

Kept it easy and felt good throughout, just 1 gel at 10 miles.

Garmin now predicting sub 2h54 which I think is getting a bit carried away.

My goal after Mcr/Leeds double learning has sways been to arrive at Abingdon in shape to run well under 3hrs not be flirting with 2h59 on a good day so hopefully am in that place.

The 22 with 15@ marathon effort will be a good indicator next weekend.

I've now got a spot in Chester Metric Marathon for upto 16@ Mara effort 2 weeks out too as part of the taper. I might not do all 16 at pace though.
