You make a lot of sense Miser. I'll run, it's just that if I end up on the treadie six miles is my limit, it seems to show up/exacerbate my niggles. It's not rearranging work and running on the good weather day when I 'could' which feels wrong.

Just sorting myself out to walk the dog and realised left knee is grumbling but it's the right that's obviously swollen. I need to listen to my sensible head. So much easier to know than to do though.

I got up to 50 miles last week - just under 12 weeks to go to Boston. Hoping to up the mileage and inch mileage up to peak at 60ish at peak.

I'm not sure how fit I am, seem to have decent speed just need to add the stamina and up the pace at threshold and I should dip under 3.

Everything is creaking but working Miser. Thanks for asking. Have managed 40 miles so far this week and hoping for another 10 tomorrow and Saturday then really need to get a long run in again next week. I'm hoping the weather improves soon. It was truly pants this morning!

Sounds like a good place to be Brunski.

Afraid I'm out. I've had too much time off already and I'm still not really able to train at anything close to a decent level. Had another failed threshold session yesterday and I'm not sufficiently motivated to drag myself round the course in a PW time just to get the medal. 9 weeks this Sunday is nowhere near enough time.

Maybe I'll have another go next year, or maybe I should take a longer break again. Looking forward to some low-stress jogging after this grim weather has passed over!

Sorry to hear jdawayinamanger.

My week off meant I was well rested for xc today. Long run will be kept steady tomorrow.

If I stay fit the mileage will be banked ok but I think I'll be short on specific miles at mara effort / pace so sub 3 effort might have to waitfir another race.

I could still impulsively set off at 6m45s mile pace on the day and see what the graphs look like afterwards as things fall apart. 😅

P.s. I raced ultras on whole foods, I don't think anything other than a jogged rave would allow that. What's the thread approved fueling these days, any specific gels, tailwind, huel?

I need to start training long runs with carrying fuelling in the next few weeks.
