You should be cruising round in about 2:43 AJLB, give yourself a nice cushion in case it gets a bit windy/hot towards the end :-)

A 10k in the US jda? They were about as common as hens teeth where I lived.

The only 10k I ran there was a longstanding race for over 40s. The last time I was ever the youngest in a race lineup!

Bolder Boulder is one of the largest 10k races in the world with over 50k participants. This year I’m in the front wave of sub-38 runners (though around 40 mins is probably more realistic for me on the course).

Blimey that's a huge race jda. I bet it will feel good to be at the front of that.

Not too near the front though! And with a 6:55am start for the front wave I'll probably be finished before most of the spectators get out of bed :-)

Not sure what the odds of visiting two different places in the USA and finding a parkrun at both of them but that's what we have managed to do in the last couple of years (first San Francisco and now Boulder which only started this year). Happy enough to duck under 20 mins on a gravel track at altitude even though someone cruised past in the final km to deny me a first finisher place. Will target 40 mins on Monday but won't be surprised to miss it.

Also scored two cheap pairs of shoes at the running store sale - Boston marathon for Monday's road race and Nike Pegasus for the gravel this morning. $100 for the two pairs seems a bit of a bargain.

Shame about the fast finisher jda. That definitely sounds like a good deal on the shoes. We have considered Boulder for a holiday - would you recommend it?

Well I like it here but the in-laws apartment makes it an obvious destination :-) Lots of sunshine, running/cycling/walking/mountains and a good starting point for road trips round some of the national parks - we are just back from Yellowstone which is a fantastic place. Grand Canyon a little further in the opposite direction. And lots more besides.
