Good read there brunski and sounds like you managed the pace well. You certainly didn’t fall off the cliff at the end. I’m just surprised that so many realised early on that it wasn’t going to happen. I have to admit I never quite hit target MP but wasn’t far off. Very jealous you were able to walk the next day 6 miles yesterday and the calves were still very sore and struggled to push off. 10 miles around London today, in much cooler conditions, and the legs are turning over a bit better. Now need to work out what my 4 week plan looks like if I’m gonna to do Edinburgh. I’ve received my gfa code and have until Monday to decide |

Hopefully everyone has just about recovered from their London exertions. My knee is slowly getting back to normal - I've managed to run three days on the bounce now which is a marked improvement. Sorted my entry for York today. I know there are more appealing autumn marathons on offer but York is a short train ride for me and it's always good to support a local event I guess. Stick me down for 2:59:xx please JDA. I have a score to settle after the Rotterdam debacle!

3 runs so far for me, parkrun tomorrow. Don't think my legs suffered too badly from Sunday (which I'll take as a good sign that I can definitely push harder when a PB is on the cards). Don't think I'll do an Autumn marathon, I have a half in hull and a 10 miler in York booked, add in my favourite run of the year (Sheffield round run) and sprinkle with a couple more 10ks and some parkruns and I reckon I'll be busy enough until next year's London! |

Giving myself a week off too, but I’m already envious of those that'll be running Stirling marathon on Sunday. Next week I need to consider what training is required for the rescheduled Alloa Half that should’ve fallen during my marathon training.

Legs feeling better so had a parkrun blast this morning; 17:38 for the James Bond token. Pretty much confirms to me that I didn't run hard enough on Sunday, need to work on my mentality before the next marathon and add in some strong finish long runs. |

You are a bit hard on yourself, There is a world of difference between a fast 5k and the heat of of last Sunday for a marathon. Impossible to compare the two, and almost impossible to run to your potential last week,.
