If you don't go a 16-week training plan is a long way too....

Scheduling is certainly decent for Edinburgh for anyone who wants a 2nd bite. I had no problems with a 4 week gap last year (Mancs and 3P). And even if it’s a touch warm at least you’ll have had a spot of acclimatisation!

It was a touch warm on Sunday apparently Chris:-) Not sure it's likely to be that good in June! 0900hrs start too.

One big thing about London is the sudden shock if you hit a warm spell, especially given the weather we had in the warmup. That must have been a factor beyond the absolute temp (and sun).
I read somewhere that the record coldest London marathon was over 10c - I presume that was the max temp in that day rather than the 10am starting time temp. Even that is worryingly close to warm for me!

Yes, for those who don't know (and who can bear it) extra stats are up via the link at the bottom of your marathon results page.
Mine are unsurprisingly horrific (passed by nearly 1,000) in the second half. They're also quite poor in the first half, but this is a reflection of me unintentionally getting into a really good position at the start of the FGFA (8 sec gap to cross the line). I would recommend it though because it helped limit congestion, even though I still saw one person trip and go down in front of me just after the start. The risk is of course that you get sucked along at too fast a pace - and looking at the results that clearly happened - except it was also my goal pace...
I don't fancy another 16 week training cycle either. I'd give Edinburgh a shot except I already have plans for then. So I think I'll have to let marathon pb chasing go for this season. I've got my first 100km in July which I'll approach very differently, and just hope that the benefits of the training and experience from London carry into that.
