No more than 7 Chris!

Worryingly my legs have been stiff and sore all week (especially the right knee!).
Never had this during the final taper week and can’t pinpoint what’s wrong?
It’s a similar feeling to the week after the marathon where even walking is hard work!

That and the Sahara desert temperatures expected this week means I may have to drastically change my target time!

Ever since Reading Half Marathon got cancelled my plan has been nothing but a chore (5k PB excluded!)

Fergus/Chris - Are you going to throw the 2 at MP pace in, or just run easy?

Do you have a sports massage booked Lee? If not get on the foam roller if you have one and make sure to do some gentle stretching.

I'll probably just go easy Chris. As others have said (here, or on the 3:15 thread) this weeks running is more about protecting our mental state of mind than gaining any further physiological benefit. My head will probably be in a better place by knowing that I'm unarguably very well rested on the day, as I've no qualms or nervousness about being able to lock onto and hold Marathon Pace for a couple of miles.

I'm not missing the constant paranoia of race week one bit, it's the waiting that's the killer.

Best of luck to everyone this weekend. Stick to your race plans and err on the conservative side early on if you dare. I'll be watching out for all of you on Sunday morning from the comfort of my living room.

paul0, surely a PB is a PB and even knocking off a min or two is quite a big deal for an experienced runner. I certainly find 3 works for me :-)

And everyone, don’t forget to pour water on your heads. It really helps.

(Not now, silly. I mean during the race.)

Lee - yes I'll be churning out a couple a mp this lunchtime. I think I'll be a sweaty mess when I get back

7 with 2 @ MP complete.

First mile felt so easy, then I turned and realised I had a nice tail wind :(
