Chris
Sooo, I’ve had a bit of a crappy week and managed to lose around half a stone in weight.
Obviously I want to get some back on for London but do I pig out to get it back or just eat normally and maybe go into London a few kilos below what I was?

Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather but from a running perspective I would never aim to gain weight for the sake of it. You aren’t likely to gain much leg muscle over that time frame, nor will you have lost any last week. By all means eat well to make sure you are well fuelled though.
Half a stone is 6? mins over a marathon perhaps? May be I’m misremembering. Anyway I’m pleased to be about 2kg down on last year.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
LMH is right Lee. There should be emergency coverage in your area but it is patchy. If NHS24 is a UK wide service use that (living far to the north I am really out of touch with the English NHS!).
Oil of cloves can help if you actually have a hole in a tooth to apply it to (as I think you said you did). Use a cotton bud and sensible quantity as it can burn the gum). Paracetamol and Ibuprofen can help, antibiotics will not help unless you have other signs of infection (swelling, trismus (limited opening of mouth), signs on an x-ray etc).
I did a nice slow 25 miles today in some tough terrain. Long social run as part of 100 miles in 4 days with a group of friends. All 'time on feet' not hard running, but I hope it helps a bit! Scenery is good at least.

Chris - I'd just get back to eating normally.
Nice miles 57.5, it must be nice to have friends to enjoy that kind of running with - mine just think that I'm mad. Obviously antibiotics only if indicated (my experience of tooth pain is usually that I have an abscess).

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Most of the year I run alone, then over Easter each year I get a massive dose of social running. Today we have 9 miles of boggy path followed by 23 on small roads which might be character building.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell Chris, I'd guess a lot of the weight you've lost is water. I'd just eat normally and your body should take what it needs! 57.5 - Getting in 100 miles with friends over 4 days sounds cracking, I guess there'll be a few good pubs involved too!

lol parkrun morning for me. All you speed merchants with your 18 min parkruns and I can’t break 20. Bit disappointed to just equal and not break my previous PB, I’d forgotten the extra 100m at the end! Long warm up making 18km for the day.

jda - I wouldn’t worry, you always nail it when it comes to the proper distance (26.2)😎
Chris - Just eat slightly bigger portions, but don’t force it! 👍🏻
57.5 DoP - 100 miles in 4 days.......I tip my hat in respect! 👍🏻
Today was 17:11 and smashed old 5k to bits!
Also another rare first place!👍🏻
Ran without a watch and decided to race on feel (run as fast as you can without passing out......)
Was aiming for 17:20 so bloody happy to beat that!
Couple of other things to mention
1) I ran till my lungs burst so am pretty certain it won’t get much faster than this. 16:59/55 would be nice but I won’t obsess over it! 2) Currently dosed up on painkillers from tooth, but will wait till Tuesday to see if they can save it (doubtful) or rip it out (more likely!)
How was everyone else’s Saturday?

Well done Lee!
Just an easy 10 for me this morning to make a 110 mile week - my biggest this year. Taper time now.

Ruddy hell Lee - 17:11 is a stonking time!
Chris - I agree with the others, just eat normally, or marginally bigger portions. No need to force it.
Nice LMH, great psychology to get such a big week under your belt.
