Women's 800m at Birmingham where Meadows set the british record, fast first 200 (28 secs), then 3 x 30 sec laps (30.2 30.7, 30.2).

Men's 800m went through 400m in 51 and ended with 1:47, although the winner actually was quite a way behind on the first two laps and probably ran a slightly faster second 400m

Infact the winner (Lewandowski) and Osagie (third and World indoor qualifying time) ran almost exactly the same race.

Wow thanks guys :) this is turning into a great little thread... even though no one else has joined the group haha. I can't wait to hear of other peoples training, I will post how I'm doing on here too.

But, for the next 4 weeks my main focus is finishing my final year uni project (25th March deadline) and then I will have finished my 5 year BSc Hons Computing degree (part time)! So hopefully I can really focus (much more than previous years) on my training.

I find it interesting looking at the splits, but isn't it like with training how everyone is different and different methods work better for different people? I personally seem to run stronger and often faster with even pacing.

I didnt see the group link yesterday but have joined now

Last hard session last night before my 3000m Road Race tomorrow night, it will show me how much spped i have lost from marathon training. Hope for a time between 9.30 and 10mins but will see what happens on the night.

10min easy WU then straight into 3x500m at 18.0 km/h with 300m recovery at 12.7 and 1km CD on the tredmill.

re the pacing

I like to go out slightly faster the first 400m but not too much faster. Just because I know most of the time I will slow slightly on the 2nd lap and will have a little time in the bank.

Evening all - a training session to report

was supposed to be 3 x 300 off 90 and 3mins

actually

1 x 3

1 x 4

1 x 2

55.1 133 156

52.8 127 164
51.3 139 167

50.8 152 168
50.2 146 170
49.9 158 171
49.2 159 172

49.3 152 170
49.9 157 171

I am a notorious slow starter but once moving these reps were faster than my 800 pace

The faster lads were running 43 - 48

The general comment was that the recoveries were tough

Nice one P.E. I've had a quick look but will have a better read through some point. I don't think it would even be possible to know everything we needed to know!

Good session Gobi, interesting how you are starting all this in Feb - are you basing their training more on Anaerobic stuff? I'm not quite sure I understand those numbers though, are they your splits for each 300m with HR zones after?

Took me awhile to realise that was 3 sets of 3 x 300, lol. HRs Avr and Max? What is your max?
