Well... it's my target (Cardiff, October 14th). Anyone else in the 7:38 club?

I did this accidently last year....didn't think I had a hope of going sub 1:40, but I managed it off the back of regular tempo runs, stretching and core strengthening. My mileage was relatively low (my longest run prior to the race was 11.5 miles) but I'm pretty sure the tempo runss got me through.

Lucky, looking back they were about 3.5-5 miles (didn't warm up at that time, silly) and at 7:30-7:40 pace, though I just ran them hard rather than with any specific pace in mind. Over the following month I raised the tempo runs to about 7 miles (which is too long I think) and knocked another couple of minutes off.
I also think the flexibility and core strength helped a fair bit.

No, make a separate 'sub-1:40 but not quite ready to make sub 1:35' thread. Cos I need one!
