Picard S3E1 verdicts? (no spoilers!) 8/10 for me.

It wasn't on yet when I checked earlier! (I was too soon!)

If you want a decent sci-fi fix I strongly recommend The Last Of Us on Now TV. It's very good.

AJLB - strong opening, but so did S1 & 2. End credits were interesting. And had fun spotting themes and callbacks |

Incredible first episode. Though, as previously mentioned here, seasons 1 and 2 also had very strong starts - so let's see how this week's episode works out!

After episode 1 I’m getting a stronger feeling that this is going to be a better series. I hope they don’t do that thing that US series see to do increasingly these days: dream sequences, flashbacks, talking about my feelings, talky talky talky. Just have a strong storyline.

At the risk of de-railing the Picard love-in (and perhaps it will already be over with today's episode - I haven't seen it yet..) - Prodigy is really good, especially for "kids" TV - good drama, personal development and even managing to make good use of an alien from the dire 3rd season of TOS. Not just good Trek, but good sci-fi.

2nd episode of Picard swimming along nicely. Unhinged villain who smokes cheroots. Must be wrong un if she smokes cheroots. I don’t really know what a cheroot is. |
