It was proper old Star Trek humour.... and I think the jibes in it about Spok never smiling in 'our age' were properly pointed

Nadders (aka monsenb1)
And in between there was Under the Cloak of War, an amazing episode showing MBenga's dark backstory...

I started watching the new Section 31 film today. Only started as it was so cringy that I didn’t get to the end. It just feels like everything has to be dumbed down with semi-comedy crap characters nowadays. Meh.

That's sad to hear, but not surprising based on the trailer. I'm not a huge hater of Discovery, but I do really dislike what they did to the excellent Section 31 of DS9.

I lasted 20 minutes of section 31 and gave up in disgust.

Nobody has anything good to say about it. It feels as though they thought they should do something else with Michelle Yeoh, but couldn't work out what - she worked well in Discovery because she was pushing against the flow. DS9 did that really well, as it moved into asking what the Federation is going to do when sticking rigidly to its principles is going to be the end of it, if people feel that's a fair description?

I felt some of what was going on in Picard was him being unable to adapt to the post-DS9 Starfleet, and his actions starting to bend it back to those days - but I'm going to have to watch the third season before I make my mind up on that.

Got something to say?
