Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I agree, under Riverside, there'd be jelly babies everywhere and a bag at the end with crisps and sweets.
I hate bananas, green or otherwise and I really could have done with something to eat at the finish. Was glad I'd packed some crisps, wasn't going to pay for chips etc.
Water bottles were too big and taking the tops off meant that carrying one for the distance wasn't on (nice cadet gave me a bottle with a lid on, so I "saved" a bottle or two)
Despite threat of disqualification for littering, there were too mnay bottles and gel wrappers outside of the drop zones. That's not the organiser's fault though. runners need to step up and be more responsible.

Great to meet everyone today. Terrible run for me today (although half expected with just returning back from injury). Tried but ultimately decided to turn it into a long training run after about mile 4! Shame I'm only up to about 5 miles in training though.

I like my bananas yellow-green, but they were really very green!

Not blown away by today, very nice scenery and can see if you're fit how it'd be a surprising PB course (the hills are very short and not *that* sharp). 4 people from another club I've run with PB'd today. I might be back next year, mainly because I think I managed a PW (personal worst) today! :-)

MovingAlong - you finished almost next to my lass who also scored a PW. She'd run a sum total of 1 mile since early September!

I gave her a wave when I went past her about Mile 10-ish, and then think I spied her pass me at the end - spotted an old friend who had done their calf so walked the last mile with them. Seems to be a day for PWs, although I'm surprised I wasn't the 'least' trained person!! :-)

Thanks Ness - disappointed during the race, but reflecting back quite happy to get round and its given me some drive to get some miles under my belt and kick-on for next year. Hopefully 2019 will be drawing to a close without any more injuries!

Hmm, interesting reviews/comments here. Maybe not one to revisit, as I've never done it under the new 'management'.

Nice to see you all on the course today - I was with Schnecke in Abbotsley. I also got the feeling it wasn't quite the race it used to be - when I first did it in 2008 I got a really good quality tech top which is still in great condition now. They also seemed to have more traffic issues in St Neots before the start. The car marshalls in Abbotsley were very good however.

sorry I dumped my rubbish on you Brian - didn't know where else to put the bottle as they obviously didn't want us to carry them and unless aksed had taken all the lids off. Meant an awful lot of watsted water and plastic :(

Run Free has her work cut out trying to change attitudes. I've been plastic free for quite a few years, so I don't take bottles. Either I don't need a drink or I carry my own reusable bottles, plus I have my own bottle for the finish.

I did see jelly babies but they seemed to be offered by supporters. I agree about the bananas - too green and hard, I couldn't "unzip" several of them so I put them back.

On the road approaching Abbotsley for the first time at 10:25am I saw a sign advising that the road was closed to traffic until 10:30 - just as a line of cars passed us!

I asked for a small sized T-shirt - even that is too big for me!

I still love this course heart though.

I still enjoy having an event 15 mins from home and I'll be back next year - with my own water bottle.

Stuck to sofa, too tired to go to bed now!
