I keep seeing people making cakes (as in sponge!) in the slow cooker .... is it really cheaper and easier? Not so sure! OK maybe cheaper to make a fruit cake (Christmas cakes are being seen alot) as they can be in the oven for a long time but a sponge is 25mins less for cup cakes! why?

Did a gammon joint in the slow cooker - a very easy (and delicious) Easter Sunday lunch with friends...

I always cook my husband's gammon joints that way now JenHB, especially since I discovered you can do them from frozen.

That’s the only way I do my gammon these days.
I did mince and tatties in mine for the first time last week and it turned out rather lovely. Always handy to know when I have to work late.

Whenever I have done gammon in there I literally plonked it in no liquid or anything
How are you doing it?

I poach mine in ginger beer then glaze and chuck in oven for a bit to crisp up. Must admit I’ve not managed to get rid of the salt even after soaking for 24 hrs and changing water loads. Probably doing something wrong

Slow cooked pork ribs all day, they're now in the oven under some BBQ sauce.
Mince & tatties is a great idea
