I seem to have accidentally run over 5 miles this morning!! My son was home from Uni and came out with me, we went to club run at the RSPB over at Rainham Marshes and I thought he might be interested to see the concrete barges londonist.com Well, I swear someone has moved them about a mile along the river since the last time I went that way!! So ended up doing about a 2 miles and 30 minutes more than the plan!! Some weirdness with my Garmin makes it look like we started in the middle of the Thames, swam the first half mile and still managed the first mile in 10:17!! |

Well done Kwala Last April I ran 17 miles with chums who were training for a marathon just to see if I could;-). Today I ran 16 miles because it's my turn to be marathon training. Not quite my longest run yet but apart from a sore foot I have been suffering with all week I felt better at the end of today's run than I did last year. Don't know how I feel when I run the 18 & 20 though. |

Nice one kwala, good to get the mileage up finally - don't overdo it though. LG, great long run done. From what I read about the site, the long runs now are also about testing out your equipment and feeding strategy for your marathon. Someone mentioned your laces on the 700 thread. Maybe you should go back to normal laces and make them a bit looser on the place where they rubbed. |

Alpen the pain is right up near the toes and nowhere near the laces...but honestly if you see the way they are tied and how loose they are I know it's not them. I have had this kind of laces for over a year now. I think the trail shoes the two weeks I had to wear them because of the snow are to blame. You're right about trying things out though. I have been experimenting with my bottle carrier and thanks to DQ the camel back is best although I have a couple of areas of rubbing cause I am wearing my Fetch vest so they will need to be covered with tape. |

Wombling Plodder (Welsh Womble)
Run restart pushed back by another week :-/ as my "it's only a cough" is actually a chest infection anyhow armed with antibiotics and an inhaler I will get those runners back on and one positive, at least it is at the beginning of my revised training plan so rather than fret about yet another delay to my return, I have refreshed my training plan on Fetch. I will rest up this week = I will put one step in front of the other next week and tick off 2 min reps Hope everyone is recovering from their lurgies - Spring is nearly here! |

Take care WW. Just back from the doctor and the diagnosis is metatarsalgia so a steroid injection in a couple of weeks time but in the meantime keep with the ibuprofen and ice in the hopes it will settle |

Hope you both get better soon Wom and LG. I’m better, but my head is stopping me from running at the moment, though I have been to the gym. I need to give myself a kick up the arse. |
