Hi gang - I'm back! Time to get back running and I want to work out some kind of plan for my half marathon in only 2 month's time. :-o

LG, well done for doing 17 miles, I'll NEVER run that far. :)

Nut, hope the eyebrows recover in time for tomorrow. ;-)

*raises eyebrows at/for Nut*

I'm totally creamed, having gotten a little bit carried away ... I did one of my usual routes but decided to run* it the same as usual and then again in the opposite direction ... then I thought 'If I run* down there I'll have run* further than I have in more than a year ...

... And then I thought ... if I go up that bit and across to there I've run* 10 miles ...

I went out intending to run* 6! 😂😂😂 *oops* ;-)

* Still doing the old Run Walk (2:30 - 0:30)

[Having just thought to check, I had to go back to early November 2016 to find a longer run ... :-o :-) ]

Enjoyed my slightly surreal 5k this morning, but walked it as my outfit wasn't really conducive to running - see gallery!

Well done dec, hope you're not paying the price for the 'accidental' extra 4 miles!!

Well done kwala! :) Did you get to keep your outfit?

I got out for my first one again yesterday. Only 3 miles but I'm still feeling it today. How does it hurt so much when you've only had 3 weeks off? :-o

You'll soon get back in the swing of things, ar.

The event provides the Santa suits and you do get to keep them. I bought the reindeer costume for a charity run that our club does at Christmas.

kwala ~ oddly, having moved to more trail oriented running using more minimalist shoes with a lot less drop and a lot less cushioning I've had far less issues with tight Achilles and tight calves.

I'm still doing the occasional road/paveway running in my 'normal' road shoes. And whether it's road or trail, I'm currently using Run Walk to offset and minimalise the inevitable jarring on my internals ;)

I've just had a thought* ... outside of it being within the calendar month, if we're not held to a specific period for a SAP race, might it be useful to include a 10k too? It would give another target race distance without that big and doubling, jump from 5 to 10 miles.

Had a lovely run/walk in the sunshine this morning. Almost didn't get out of bed to go but so glad I went when I did as it is tipping down now!

On the subject of run/walk, I did a planned R2/W1 this morning and boy was my head in a better place for it. I have really been struggling this year, my times have dropped and I've not really been enjoying it as much. I found today, knowing that I had a walk coming up soon, I was able to run a bit quicker, and my average pace was 14:47 compared to last week's 15:48 :-O
