Good work kwala. :)

I awoke to hear the rain hammering on the roof so I stayed put. I'm going on my first club run of the year this evening.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Well done kwala, it’s great when a run feel ‘right’.

FINALLY I got my sorry arse out for an actual run outside, first proper run since flu. That’s not counting a half arsed attempt on a treadmill. I’ve been well enough to do it for a while but for some reason I kept finding excuses not to. Managed it today by asking my running friends on FB if anyone was up for a run in the morning and someone said yes, thankfully.

Pace was quicker than I thought I’d manage, talking was difficult through the puffing and panting (only from me) but I did run 2.5 miles without any walking. I’m half-committed to a joining a group for the last 4-5 miles of their 20 mile run on Sunday, so pace should be nice and slow as they’ll all be knackered (hopefully). :)

Enjoy your club run, ar :-)

Well done Frag :-) So easy to find excuses not to do it - I had a massive case of cba on Tuesday but my son practically kicked me out the door to go to club! And my run this morning was partly powered by the knowledge that I'd be meeting up with clubmates in the cafe at the end of the run :-) And so pleased I went to both sessions! I need a way to remember the satisfied feeling at the end of a run when the excuses and/or cba get into my head.

Come on here and commit to it kwala, I find it helps - mostly. ;-)

Well done Frag, I'll keep my gingers crossed that you're finally over all the lurgies now.

My motivation at the moment is that I have a half marathon to run in 8 weeks time after hardly any running this winter.

Wise words by alpenrose

- so my commitment for those of you not on my facebook page is: "2018 Q2: Kick this chest infection into touch and also shed x lbs of blubber. Return to Cto5k and then plod a HM in August which will also mark 30 years with Gibbo 💜 A 13 miles trail walk in May and a 20 miles midnight walk in June. Plus a fun run 5km for the Guide Dogs 🐕 as part of the 5 senses. So the plan is consistent training, healthy eating, stick to my event commitments and take a day at a time. Wish me luck 🍀"

I shall start by putting my running shoes on this Easter Monday and taking baby steps (1RW for 15 minutes). Tuesday I have a running assessment to help me on my way!

So let's do it ...

I seriously need to log into my laptop and get adding.

Just can't seem to focus on anything else bar the plan I have been set. Never mind 4 weeks Sunday and I will be back to normal.

Have a great bank holiday weekend folks :-)

Wom, good luck for Monday and thanks for all your hard work on that spreadsheet. star
Nut, can't believe it was so warm up there today, hope the job's working out well.
LG, don't worry about the SAP events until you've got that marathon under your belt and don't forget to concentrate on going slooooow. ;-)

I did the club run last night and one lady kindly ran with me. They've all been doing marathon/half marathon training this winter and haven't had all the time out that I have. Apart from one of our "coaches" who had a stress fracture in her foot 6 weeks ago and has just had her boot off.
parkrun for me tomorrow, I think I'll be wearing trail shoes after today's rain.
