ah mulbs, I think you may have hit the nail on the head for me - I feel that at my current pace I could keep going for miles (breathingwise perhaps, but not body aches and pains-wise iykwim!), I need someone to push me out of my comfort zone. When the First Steps course is over in 2 weeks I'll be joining my local running club so hopefully they will give me the boost I need.

Well done all you bimblers. I have yet to discover what kind of running suits me best because all of it gets difficult after a while. Mentally I prefer (relative) speed and really enjoy it. Problem is I also like breathing.

That's partly why I prefer trail running, uneven ground, stiles etc force me to slow down

Fragile I'm not a lover of trail but can see why it would work.

On holiday for the next week and a half so hopefully get out the door at least once or twice for a decent run

1) Keep doing my leg exercises and add ankles to the plan
2) Cto5k/10k my way
3) Concentrate on 5k then 10k times
4) Try to get to +300 miles in a year (plus 1000 walking miles)
5) Arrive at the BH marathon start line fit and healthy, and have fun whilst covering the challenge

1) to start building some strength and flexibility work into my week
2) to get back in to walking every day for at least 30 mins
3) to shift some of the extra heft I've gained this year
