Before hte race this morning I was wishing I had gloves with me! I kept my jacket on and didn't take it off until 2 miles in, everyone was complaining about the cold.
Fabulous route, all in a wood on a private estate carpeted with bluebells and wild garlic, I thought it was all finished by now. Lots of birds twittering and I heard a cuckoo. I want to do it again next year. :) The medal is very heavy.

Wow fab medal. I usually start with a jacket and take it off. Don't like to be cold but warm up quickly

Thanks folks, their medals are seriously weighty and some people enter the races just to get the medals. It didn't seem too hilly, the hills were mostly deceptively long drags up with a few little kicks up - 258m of ascent recorded. They are fun events and lots of people run in fancy dress. My next race with them involves running? up a hill near the Cerne Abbass Giant.

Hellooooooo! No-one's been here for 10 days now!

I went to Bognor for the weekend then my nephew's girlfriend and friend came to stay for a couple of days so I've had a bit of a full-on time and now catching up with myself. I also contracted a lurgy last week so that put my training back too. I've also just realised that I should have been working out with my PT as I type - oops!
Hope everyone's keeping at it, I might even try and fit in a 5 miler this week.

Hello all! Good luck with the 5 miler Alpen! Has your lurgy gone now? Mine has lingered for weeks but is practically gone, just a sore throat at night and a bit of gunk in the mornings.

Some great news here today, I got offered a new job!!!! Granted the pay is a bit shite but frankly I'll take it to get out of here and there may be promotion possibilities in the new job in the future! I am so excited to think I can resign from here soon! Just some pre-employment checks to do first then maybe 2 months time I will be starting in a new job.

This weekend is Windermere marathon, those in here last year will know that I DNFd this race last year and regretted giving up because I believe I could have done it. How will it end this year? Stay tuned for un update on Sunday evening!

Meanwhile tomorrow morning I am visiting my new office to meet some of my new colleagues and then we are off to Ambleside to acclimatize and settle in. :-)

Hello :-)
L10 great news on job front and very good luck at Windemere - I hope it goes your way, nothing worse than beating yourself up over a race.

Great medals etc. up there alpenrose, not keen on the sound of your next exploit - you mention uphill . . .

Congratulations again L10....you sound so happy.

I have done 2 x 5 mile runs this week so I will probably use one of them as weather permitting I am trying for a parkrun PB this weekend and then we are away for a few days next week so won't be running much next week.

Good luck with the marathon, I'm sure with your happy news going round your head you will be great :-)
