Stew, congrats on the new job and so close to home - what a bonus. :) When do you finish the current job?
LD, I wish I could do a 10 miler like that - good to be distracted, especially when you're a bit below par. :)

Thanks guys, have to go in to work a bit earlier on Monday to discuss it but hopefully in 3 weeks time, but I'll know more tomorrow.

AR I was really surprised but also interested. I haven't done any exercise apart from walk the dog since Tuesday, so perhaps I need to do proper tapering before longer races :-). I never taper - worried that I'll lose too much fitness.

LSD I'm the same..always scared to taper incase I lose all fitness. A couple of weeks ago when I nearly PB'd again at parkrun I hadn't run most of that week.

1) Keep doing my leg exercises and add ankles to the plan
2) Cto5k/10k my way
3) Concentrate on 5k then 10k times
4) Try to get to +300 miles in a year (plus 1000 walking miles)
5) Arrive at the BH marathon start line fit and healthy, and have fun whilst covering the challenge

1) to start building some strength and flexibility work into my week
2) to get back in to walking every day for at least 30 mins
3) to shift some of the extra heft I've gained this year
