Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I wish I'd run in shorts today DQ, I dressed suitably for the temperatures earlier in the week (hard frost etc) and actually it was incredibly mild.

I'm a bit late but Happy Birthday LG! Mmmmm chocolate.

I have my hospital check up next week where I'll find out if I have beaten this bug. I've got another cold at the moment so not hopeful of good lung function!

I am trying to get a bit more walking in but the weather doesn't help. Still working on the living room. Anaglypta is my enemy! Speaking of which, I better get the scrapers out!

How is everyone? DoD can't believe you got a cold to go with your bug, hope you've beaten the bug anyway! I don't like Anaglypta and we had to shift a load of it when we moved to our current home. Lovely smooth walls now though, it's worth it in the end!

I have an event the end of this week, I am doing a 6 hour challenge in Dover on Friday to mark the end of the battle of The Somme. Its a Saxons Vikings and Norman's event so will be great fun, and I will see how many loops I can do in 6 hours before being handed a huge medal and a carrier bag loaded with chocolate, crisps and beer :-) pig After that we are spending a night in East Sussex and hope to see some of Mr Lemon's relatives. :-)

SOunds gret Lem. LG can't remember if I already wished you birthday happiness or not! Stewie bad luck on the stats but well done on a feel-good run. DQ well done on double figuring. LD really mild today, a really nice NOvember day.
Can't remember what was on the previous page(s) - should that go on the senior moments thread?

*waves* to dod, glad you're feeling a bit perkier now - good luck with that stripper. :-o

*waves* to mulbs. :)

Lem, that sounds awesome, I hop you manage to run as far as you'd like to, just don't overdo it and half-kill yourself. :)

Stew, you win some, you lose some. ;-)

Lol at the stripper Alpen! You can't beat a stripper for getting some steam up! I promise to be sensible on Friday! I think the forecast may be rather cold, wet and windy, and the venue is going to be very exposed, so that will determine how keen I am to keep going! I am packing hats and jackets, and I'm taking a super warm coat to put on afterwards as I always feel cold after a run. Waves at everyone else in SAP land :-)

Our house was covered in Anaglypta but we got the builders in to strip it and replaster - lazy@arses'r'us ;-) - but the ceilings were covered in the stuff as well as all the walls so it would have been way beyond us to do all that.

Job news. Some of you will recall about 4 weeks ago I went for a meeting about a possible job transfer that was suggested for me back in August. Fast forward to today and I haven't had any feedback at all following the meeting 4 weeks ago. That the job was in HR (my old career), the meeting was with HR people, it was meant to be a simple transfer and yet - no contact! So I decided it wasn't going to be the right place for me, if they treat potential new staff like that, I don't want to see how they treat existing employees!

Meanwhile I have sought advice and support from current management about the things that bother me the most about my current job. I didn't know if they cared or would help that much, my line manager barely gives me 60 seconds once a month so not too hopeful there but his manager is better. They did know I was pissed off, but I don't think they knew how badly, so they have made some good suggestions on how we can change things to improve my lot and they been very supportive. It is enough to make me think it's worth staying here to give it a try and see if it helps, and frankly it's not as if there are any other options but I do feel a whole lot better and brighter about the future.

Thanks for all kind words and the ginger crossing - it worked - we thought we were crossing them for a move, but the outcome - if it works - will be even better, because this job I'm in now pays more than the one I was looking at and is closer to home. :-) And I break up today for a looong weekend and some running with lovely people, yay :-)

Get Well Soon Lip Gloss, seen on another thread you are poorly. Sending healing vibes your way.
