I don’t agree with it.
But you’re right something needs to be done to give the Pacific islands and Argentine more tests

On The South Africa in 6N question. For the love of god "NO"
It would spoil the whole dynamic of the tournament, The 6N is about more than just results. It would also destroy any hope of rugby development long term in Italy (word seems to be on replacement). It would certainly diminish the tournament for me and by extension diminish both the world cup and future Lions tours.
In terms of the international calendar, WR need to understand that less is more and the more they throttle the golden goose (like super rugby did) the short term gain will not be worth the long term cost.

Also - carbon footprint would be horrendous. Cost of travel would be extortionate, plus J’berg is not particularly safe.

I quite like Italy being in - should normally be a win for every other team, but occasionally cause a huge upset and beat one of the other teams (Scotland!!). Ignominy for them.
Can't see why South Africa would want to take part. Just for the money?

Aren't SA in the 4 nations thing with NZ, Australia and Argentina? I know it's been massively disrupted by C19 but it surely makes more sense for them to stay in that. It could be expanded to include the PI teams and maybe Japan in the future.
If they are going to mess with the 6N (and I really, really hope they don't!) then it should be limited to other European countries.

Just on logistics and carbon footprint objections.... It may be a surprise to some to discover that a Joburg to London flight is a pretty hefty amount quicker than Joburg to NZ (around 5 hours less).
However, it's still a stupid idea and I hope it never happens.
[South Africa are pretty isolated geographically in the world of rugby, and you could forgive them pushing for this, I think]

SA want to be aligned with Europe based on time zones (ie TV money) as they are with the URC.
Their historic rivalry is against New Zealand, and fewer games against SA by not being in The Rugby Championship (the tournament Little Nemo refers to) will likely mean that NZ rugby weakens further.
I’m also not sure what the weather is like in SA in Feb / March. I love the 6N being in the shoulder between winter and Spring and don’t want that to change.

Time zones seems to be the main driver and makes some sense, but it's a no from me. Aus/NZ, SA and Argentina is a nightmare from from a time zones point of view even if they are the same hemisphere
