Hi there. I need a place to stay the night before the race. Any local can suggest a REALLY NICE B&B or similar handy for the race. I may be coming up by train from London and I do no want to walk miles before the race starts. Thanks for your help!

Most were filling up even back when I booked last october with it being Shakespeares birthday too so your probably best off just checking on something like laterooms.com and choosing the one you like the look of most!

I'm in desperate need of advice on my training and would be very grateful for suggestions.
I was due to do a 22 mile run this week-end but due to a slight pain on the outside of my left foot and recent illness it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to do this. After this week-end the schedule has shorter 10/14 mile as the long week-end run.
If I don't complete the 22 miles this week-end is it better to do it next week-end or just not bother with it and stick to the schedule?
Obviously I would like to complete a 22 miler as this is my first marathon and want to make sure I can go the full distance.
I already completed a 20 mile run about a month ago so I have a longish run competed already.
I will be grateful for ny advice. Only 3 weeks to go!

Hi, personally I'd be loath to do a 22 miler 2 weeks before a marathon as if you do get very sore it might play on your mind a bit.
I've done several marathons on less than a 20mile lsr or "just" 20 milers (only one). Personally I would do no more than 18. Thats what worked for me - done 7 so far.

but JB you are marathon legend!! HR - its down to the individual, I know your following a training plan (I never have, but then again I'm crap) but I'd be tempted to ease of, remember less is sometimes more...don't get hung up on your first one - its an experience and something you need to take on board, rather than kill yourself and swear ''I'm never doing another one''.
getting into marathon running is a BIG learning curve, but take it easy and you'll be better off for it.

HR, I'll have done ly longest run as 13 miles 6 weeks before this and not being able to run for the past 2 weeks and probably not till next week and I'm still going to give it a good go so I wouldn't worry too much!

Simo - Good luck on finding accom, laterooms still have rooms avaliable at decent rates, faviere, the travellers rest & Hunters moons are all guest houses within a mile of the center. HM - I would give the 22 a miss and concentrate on resting the strain, trying to catch up is probably not a good idea so close to the mara, remember this is your 1st so you want to enjoy it.
