Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

it went better than expected - have 52.7 miles over the weekend so that will be another big test - a few miles this week with some Swimming.

23.2 slow miles this morning, hamstrings and glutes were screaming but mentally probably the strongest I've felt during a long run and that's what this game's all about.

Well it's taper time :-) I've been looking forward to this. Longest run between now and RSM is a very easy paced 18 miles next Sunday, it'll seem so easy compared to the last 3 long runs

Resting up now for a few days, but I have a 12 miler planned for next Friday with Enthusiastic! which I'm pretty sure I'll be fit and well for. Otherwise, it'll just be short stuff between now and The Big Day.

I'm quite pleased with how my training has gone this year, and I've just realised that I've had no injuries or blisters at all this time round (the shin splints are from hammering it at Hastings, nothing to do with mara prep).

The only thing to really worry about now is which shoes to wear - the Triumph 6s or the Fastwitches? I've been wearing the Fastwitches more often recently and really notice the difference now when I put the slightly bulkier Triumphs on. I'll see how the next week or so goes, and I'll probably take both pairs with me and decide the night before.

I still haven't ran in a few weeks with the ITB still a bit sore so this is gonna be a serious challenge for me to complete but I'm still intent on doing it even if I get no training in at all!!
