Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Shades-Absolutely not,I don't enjoy racing there, the bridge killed me last time with ridiculous wind and hilly.

WP - sounds like you enjoyed your run. Much better not to have any target training distances until you're over this post flu period.

Keith - good to hear you're going to get round to entering some races.

Big G - hope the injection is successful. At least you're excused manual labour for a while.

Gym was busy. Didn't really affect me today but other regulars were moaning and hoping the newbies start losing interest soon.

I was good today and didn't skimp on the steady state cardio at the end of my session and managed 20 mins on the bike 😀

Been passing time whilst watching impossible builds looking at park run courses rankings fastest first. Rankings are out of 835 apparently.

Keswick 35th
Maryport 73rd
Workington 176th
Muncaster 304th
Silloth 331st
Cockermouth 354th
Whitehaven 400th
Bower Park (Aspatria) 522nd
Carlisle 690th
Whinlater 834th

Seems i need to go to some of the other local ones for faster times also bemused at the ranking for Carlisle. Guess might be winter course but who knows.

I'm intrigued by the difference between Workington and Whitehaven. I think of them as being quite similar.

Keswick and Maryport are reasonably fast courses imho.

Keswick is really fast now if you don't get stuck behind people. Maryport is a little wind-dependent.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
