Here's the route to my gym. There is a longer way there that might be flood free 😉

I think longer way is best for gym😁

I think you live top of hill? So hope you are okay with the flood warning.

Most roads out of Newton Abbot are now impassable due to floods. Roads to Kingsteignton, Totnes, Ashburton, Plymouth, Bovey all closed.

I think the road to Torquay is OK which is the general direction of my running route tomorrow 😀 . All my other routes are flooded.

It’s a washout. OH has been in Birmingham since Thursday on a vet conference, and has driven back today, and fortunately for her the main roads are okay.

Big G - that was fortunate for your OH, probably the only clear road.

I've since heard the subways at Penn Inn are flooded, hoping that subsides by morning otherwise I'll have to run through that flood too 🤣

7 miles this morning and not even a puddle in sight, all had drained away during the night on my route. A lot of tree debris and a couple of bigger branches that I had to skirt around. Subways were dry, there had been concerns as high tide was at midnight that would increase the flooding, haven't checked on Spotted to see if that happened. There are still some road closures.
Passed another runner and we shared the joy that it wasn't raining. 🤣

Need to up my mileage, only 5 weeks to the end of the year and I want to be on 50mpw by then. 16 weeks to my next marathon.

Gym later.

The same here the river levels had dropped and not a deep puddle to be seen. Lots of trees down, branches, twigs etc.

5 weeks till end of year wowser I better try to get my mileage back up.

6 miles today stopped at Lidls for bits.cashier said I think a glitch in reality I am sure I saw you run passed twice🤣 has to explain I was short of distance so had to run the path twice. Lady behind d me said only a runner would do that 😀

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
