Glad that was sorted out with help .

Ian and Shades Thanks for explaining it.They were making a big deal out of it and I was curious.

Oh what a shame on cold Shades .

6 degrees here and 4.6 miles was run finishing at Chemist to collect scripts.I saw a big hairy caterpillar. Then I diverted from road to cycle path not something i have done before but traffic was pretty busy and I was sick of it whizzing past me.I had to go down a small lane across train track s and then....a very narrow bridge!! I hate suspended narrow bridges ,I don't like heights so holding on the wire running across bridge and talking aloud to myself with positive thoughts.I was so glad to get across and then a steep concrete path I had to walk sideways...telling myself why oh why do you get in these predicaments.
Ice tub was 14 degrees and it has taken me ages to warm up.

Glad it worked. If it had broken the page or the site, you could have blamed me :) Looks quite good on my tablet actually, as it’s very easy to glance at.

WP, sounds like an adventure! I think Cal also doesn’t like bridges.

7 miles, and had a nice run. Quite cold and gloves wouldn’t have gone amiss. Yes, I know around a month ago I was moaning about the humidity, and now I’m moaning about the cold. Somethings never change :)

WP - good for you braving the bridge and not turning back.

That ice bath is getting chilly.🥶

Big G - yes, looks good on my PC too and readable on my phone too. I think Fetch is on his hols so might not have been pleased if I'd broken the site 😀

It is chilly today, I wore fingerless gloves for my walk/run as wasn't sure how cold it would be at the top of Highweek, can be a brisk wind up there.

I'm not very warm now, wrapped up well, but my cold is getting worse and making me feel miserable. Will put the heating on tonight as we've 2 cold nights coming up.

Big G Well done on run this morning.Us runners always like to moan about the weather.

Shades You do sound miserable.Cwtch up with blanket on sofa.

I could have done with gloves but wore long sleeved top over my short sleeved and it has thumb holes. It was off by mile one.
I won't ever moan about weather unless it is summertime.

I forgot to say I taped Achilles and was aware of Achilles but not enough to bother me.
I have to decide about 10k Sunday it is a fast and flat course and I know I will want to race even if I am not in shape and do damage to Achilles so sensible me thinks stay away and get the Achilles 100%.

WP - would be a shame to miss your race on Sunday. You have a few days yet to decide.

Hope that pesky achilles is finally on the mend.

That's a lovely bridge and a great photo. I'm OK with bridges.🙃

First day of a cold is pretty rotten. I think my RHR might well be raised tomorrow, most strange it wasn't today. Usually I have a raised RHR before any symptoms.

Needless to say no run today, RHR +8 this morning.

Had a wretched day yesterday and a very poor night's sleep but I'm over the feverish stage now. 🙂

I thought you may be rested today but good news on fever breaking. Some nice warm soup is called for. Weird how RHR not elevated till today.

Torrential rain here so hoping it goes through and it stays dry for my run.

WP - yes, weird. Normally I have an elevated RHR before any symptoms at all.

Dry here, but chilly, put my heating on.

That’s very frustrating for you, Shades. Just after you drafted a new weekly mileage plan as well :(

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
