half-way through mowing the lawn I lost the grass-box.

You will not be shocked and surprised to learn that it was clipped to the back of the lawnmower.

Yes, occasionally I'm lost for the word I'm after...hubby wonders what I'm thinking/on about when I stop talking when hunting for that elusive word!!

When I can't remember why I've gone into a room, I do say out loud *and I have come in here because* and that generally triggers the reason.

Word finding- i often confuse iron and kettle

Lol JC!

WA: the threshold effect is common, going out and coming back in again also often triggers the memory

Went to make gravy yesterday with granules and poured the water in from the kettle to realise I hadn’t boiled the kettle.

Today on leaving my work I was looking for my phone in my handbag to text my DiL and couldn’t find it only to see I already had it in my hand.

Think my holiday next week can’t come quick enough ;-)

Reaching the top of a hill on my bike, I put it into top gear and found no resistance in the pedal. I thought the chain must have come off. Stopped: chain was properly on. Set off again and found I could pedal to get going, but in seconds there was no resistance again.

Stopped. Looked closely. I had put it into bottom gear, not top.

During this incident I had already worried about this week's WSW; whether I could come home on the bus covering my face with my hat rather than a proper thing; the number of actually useful errands I do on my bike; what sort of bike I would get if it couldn't be repaired, and how long I might have to wait for a repair.

[That’s not an uncommon occurrence for me either Chris. The gear thing, not the others]

Made filter coffee for the electrician who is (hopefully) on his way.

Forgot the coffee.

Does anyone want a lovely pot of hot water?

About This Thread

Maintained by ChrisHB
This morning I went to charge my kindle and instead found myself trying to charge my coffee mug. It was my third coffee of the day as well, clearly not strong enough!

=============

I was just drying my hair after a shower, I switched the hairdryer on and suddenly the bedroom was plunged into darkness, the hairdryer wasn't working either. Great, the electrics have just tripped out.

I find a torch, go to the fuse box but nothing has tripped - turns out I pressed the light switch instead of the hairdryer 'on' button.
