It was actually 11 days Steve 😱
So I've been and done 5k on the Ancholme valley parkrun route and really enjoyed myself. I did 2/1 and it was about right for today - 13:42mm. It was my fastest non-parkrun run/walk since 10th May. My pace at the last 2 parkruns - both in the last month - has been 13:31.

Still idly experimenting with ratios and paces. In the past week I've done one run nonstop apart from 50 paces walking rapidly at each mile, pacing carefully to keep hr within bounds. And one as 2:30 run and 0:30 walk without looking at the hrm. The first was about 8 secs per mile quicker, both runs showed pretty much identical average and peak heart rates. This is on a flat road route. Not sure which method I prefer, tbh, although I am sure that walk breaks are here to stay.

Muttley - I think I need to practice more with running again after a walk break especially when legs are tired!

I was wondering why after a long-ish run/walk I felt somewhat creaky, more so than after longer runs in the past. It occurred to me that I don't actually walk that much. I do plenty of running and used to do lots of cycling, but I never walked very far. So maybe I need to practice walking more!

Saw a cardiologist yesterday but no reasons explored for my hopeless HR but was referred for a Heart CT scan which will provide better info for a further conversation. Given advice re age and effort (!) and a prescription..
Yeah, walking is difficult Muttley! I think we've said it before. Luckily I don't creak, my body is generally ok but the engine isn't purring as I want it to. I'm still on 20/30 and I look forward to the walk break even after such a short run and even though I don't walk well enough!!
I reckon I'll be able to continue run/walk well into my eighties, another seven years! With some luck I do actually hope to be able to run a complete route again.
Did just 2.2 miles this morning and enjoyed it at 20/30
