totally agree with that!
I can push myself on a turbo trainer but running I find it very hard to do anything other than just run or run walk to a HR
I've not actually done a run event for years!
cycling my race pace was always better than training pace even though it never felt harder (which I always assumed was the taper!) and I just swim again no pace work!
but for now I am being just a runner so need to make an effort

Love it. I find that setting the session on the watch, means I can forget about everything. Just run/walk at the beeps.

5mile tonight.

Average 8.53min mile.

Finally feeling more like running again than just shuffling along. 😁

So I did 10mins warm up then my intervals then a cool down so just 30 mins in total

After the final set my calves were very tight so either need a longer warm up or to be up earlier and not run so soon after getting up
I can’t pace as all 5 sets were different paces! I tried to make it easier on myself by using flatter or down bits!
Faster bits averaged 12:41 so pleased but lots learnt including I don’t like effort haha

Or more accurately I haven’t done faster stuff so it’s hard so I don’t want to do it as I feel I’m useless at it so … vicious circle

I would never consider a predicted time from my Garmin or suunto as anywhere near reliable!
As for 5k, I followed Project Joker and got a 35.27 at the end of it and included three 30 second walks because I was feeling ugh! I find it hard accepting my slowed pace especially when I used to run 10k regularly sub 39. Ah well...age and all that😂.
I've only raced twice since 1990!! And won't race again!!!
Effort is ugh EvilPixie! Although I gave my 10k some welly this morning, still 30/30 with a few doubles of the runs and a best of the year 10k. I don't like doing it very often🤪
